SystemsGo Team Leader, Rebekah Hyatt made a special trip to the High School campus to personally deliver a Silver Award banner. Lions Club Grant to HMS. On October 26th, the Lions Club International Foundation and the Lions Club of Sour Lake presented Henderson Middle School with a Disaster Relief Grant for over $18,000. Mr. Randy Richard and Mr. Ronnie Johnson, members of the Lions Club of Sour Lake served as ambassadors between HJISD and the Lions Club International Foundations (LCIF). The funds from the grant will be specifically used for the replacement of lost materials and curriculum, and is mostly concentrated in science lab equipment. Lions Club District Govenor Roger Doyle hand delivered the grant check to the Henderson Middle School campus. “We were made aware of the loss of the Henderson Middle School Campus by the local Lions Club of Sour Lake, and began writing the grant almost a year ago. We saw the need, and wanted to help,” he said. HJISD and Henderson Middle School appreciates our local chapter of the Lions Club for everything that they have done and continue to do for our school district. The benefits afforded to our students are immeasurable.
